Edward Artis

Chivalry Lives: Portrait of a Warrior-Saint

Edward Artis is one of the three big, brash men featured in the documentary film, Beyond the Call, which chronicles the rough and tumble international aid work undertaken by Artis and his associates. Part ruffian, part saint, Artis aspires to a kind of modern day chivalry that compels him to enter into the heart of the worst conflicts in the world to hand-deliver aid to those in the most dire need. He is also a founding member and CEO of Knightsbridge International (a non-governmental aid organization) and a member of a Self Styled Order of the Knights of Malta. Artis speaks about his darker tendencies and his profound altruistic compulsions in equal measure, presenting a truly fascinating study in the paradox of human nature and the undeniable power of free will.
