Biography & Resources

Arjuna Ardagh is the founder of the Living Essence Foundation in Nevada City, California, a non-profit organization dedicated to the awakening of consciousness in the context of ordinary life. He is the author of Relaxing into Clear Seeing, How About Now, The Last Laugh (a novel), The Translucent Revolution, and, most recently, Awakening into Oneness.

Ardagh was educated in England, at King’s School Canterbury, and later at Cambridge University, where he earned a Master’s degree in literature. Since the age of fourteen, he has had a passionate interest in spiritual awakening and been a practitioner of meditation and yoga. In his late teens, he trained as a meditation teacher. After graduating from Cambridge, he devoted himself more fully to the call he felt inside him, studying with a number of prominent spiritual teachers. Founding the Alchemy Institute in Seattle, Washington in 1987, he trained several hundred people in a transpersonal approach to hypnotherapy.

Ardagh met the Advaita Vedanta master H.W.L Poonja in India in 1991, and with Poonja’s help, he went through a radical shift of perspective. After spending a year with his guru, he returned to Seattle and began sharing with other people the realizations he had acquired. He also developed the Living Essence Training to prepare people to become facilitators of a similar shift in consciousness. He and his staff have trained more than 450 practitioners in the U.S. and Europe.

Together with his Norwegian wife, Chameli Gad Ardagh, Ardagh teaches Deeper Love seminars throughout the U.S. and Europe to support couples in transforming their relationships into potent spiritual practices.
